Why a Simple Cell-Eating Game Still Keeps Me Coming Back
Casual games rarely leave a lasting impression. Most of them are short distractions—something you open, play briefly, and forget just as quickly. Yet every now and then, a game appears that looks almost too simple, and somehow stays with you. For me, that game has been agario.
I didn’t expect much when I first opened it. No flashy graphics, no story, no characters to care about. Just a circle on a grid. But after dozens of sessions—some short, some far longer than planned—I realized this game does something many larger titles fail to do: it creates tension, humor, and personal investment using almost nothing at all.
This article is a reflection on that experience: what makes the game addictive, the moments that frustrated and surprised me, and why it continues to earn a place in my casual gaming rotation.
