Sudoku Nights: How a Grid of Numbers Became My Unexpected Obsession

It’s funny how some of life’s little obsessions sneak up on you. For me, it was Sudoku. I had always thought of myself as someone who enjoyed puzzles—but only casually. Crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, the occasional logic game. Nothing serious. Yet, one quiet evening, armed with nothing but a cup of tea and a 9x9 grid from my favorite puzzle app, I dove in—and suddenly, Sudoku became this deliciously addictive little world I couldn’t escape.

The First Puzzle: Underestimating Sudoku

I remember the first puzzle I ever tried. It was labeled “easy,” which now makes me chuckle because, at the time, it felt anything but. Ten minutes in, I was questioning my entire life strategy. I had assumed I could just guess a few numbers here and there, but Sudoku isn’t about guessing—it’s about logic, strategy, and seeing patterns where chaos seems to reign. That realization hit me like a bucket of cold water.
