Optimove's OOTB Solution Guide
Welcome to the Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) Solution guide – your fast track to data-driven marketing with minimal setup. This article introduces Optimove’s OOTB Solution: a standardized, ready-to-use data structure designed to help you unlock value from your customer data from day one.
Why It Matters: The OOTB Solution accelerates your time to value. With preconfigured tools and models, you can quickly activate campaigns, uncover insights, and drive engagement without waiting on bespoke implementations.
What’s Included in the OOTB Solution?
The OOTB Solution is a comprehensive, ready-to-use data foundation that accelerates intelligent marketing decisions. It includes:
- Customer Attributes – A rich set of demographic, behavioral, and predictive fields that power segmentation and targeting. These include calculated metrics like deposit ratios, win/loss data, registration dates, churn risk, and more.
- Segmentation Model – A layered customer segmentation framework:
- Lifecycle Stages (LCS) – Identify where each customer stands in their journey (e.g., New, Active, Churned).
- Segmentation Layers – The segmentation layers define more distinct personas within the Lifecycle Stages. This segmentation is RFM (Recency Frequency Monetary Value) based and helps form the Micro Segments.
- Predictive Metrics – Anticipate future behavior with predictive scores for churn, conversion, reactivation, and customer value.
OOTB Data Structures for Customer Targeting
The Solution is powered by three foundational data structures, each built for flexible, scalable targeting:
Single Customer View (Customer 360)
- Unified Profiles: Merge demographic, behavioral, and predictive data into one view—covering details like registration date, spending habits, product affinity, and risk scores.
- Custom Attributes: Supports calculated metrics (e.g., ratios, scores) derived from your raw data to reflect unique business needs.
- Actionable Targeting: Drive precise segmentation using rich data directly in Optimove’s reports and audience tools.
Activity History
- Daily Tracking: Monitor logins, purchases, deposits, or bets over time, aggregated by day.
- Flexible Views: Summarize by custom periods (e.g., last 14 days, 30 days) to detect trends and inform strategy.
- Cross-Vertical Flexibility: Metrics adapt to your industry—be it transactions for e-commerce or deposits for gaming.
Purchase History
- Transaction-Level Detail: Access full purchase, product, or payment records to analyze buying patterns and engagement.
- Catalog Integration: Connect with product/game metadata for targeted offers, cross-sells, and personalization.
- Time-Based Insights: Understand how customer value evolves with historical behavior tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What if a customer meets criteria for both Active and Churn?
Lifecycle stages are mutually exclusive. A customer cannot meet the criteria of two different lifecycle stages at the same time. Migration between lifecycle stages can change daily based on changes in behavior.
Can I add new attributes?
Yes. You can add new attributes if needed. See Creating New Attributes for more information. You can also contact your CSM/PM to customize existing attributes or add additional attributes that cannot be added manually.
Can I add new segmentation layers or change existing segmentation layers to my instance?
As our OOTB Solution is based on best practices in the market, this is not recommended as standard. If this is something you require, please contact your CSM to discuss this.
Please note: Changes in the segmentation model will result in additional costs.
How often is data refreshed?
Batch data is refreshed every 24 hours based on a predefined time that you select. Real-time data requires additional setup. More information on the setup of Batch and Real-time data can be found here. Additionally, there are further self-serve options to bring data into Optimove and have this refreshed during the day. See Data Ingestion and Creating Customer Attributes via API for more information.
